Preferences, under the Edit menu, allows you to set several parameters to customize CoStar App to your work style. These include:
Unit dimensions -- inches or centimeters.
Save by first or last name -- Selecting Save by: First name will set the Save as... dialog to default to saving by first name. You can always "Swap" first and last names when you would like to make an exception.
Before importing a new list, select whether you want the names saved by first or last. First Name should be selected when importing a list of addresses where the first line is a company name or message.
Print 5-Digit Bar Code -- Postal Bar Code is most commonly generated for addresses with 9-digit ZIP codes. To generate 5-digit bar codes select Print 5-digit bar code.
Postal Code -- A number of International Postal Code systems are handled by CoStar App. Selecting any one of the countries listed next to Postal Code, sorts your list by the country's postal code and places foreign addresses at the bottom of the list.
Show Print Dialog -- Clicking in the Show Print check box enables you to view the print dialog before printing. Not selecting Show Print Dialog will send your print job directly to the printer.
Save Number of Copies -- Clicking in the Save Number of Copies box sets your default to the number of copies selected at the time you quit the application.
Ask to Save Changes -- Selecting Ask to Save Changes will produce a dialog before changing templates which asks if you want to save changes. Not selecting Ask to Save Changes enables you to switch templates without saving changes.
Auto Paste from Clipboard -- Selecting Auto Paste automatically Pastes copied text from another application into the Edit Text box upon re-entering CoStar App.
Position Buttons Horizontally -- Places the quick select buttons horizontally above the Text Edit box rather than vertically along the left margin of the Template window.
Auto Save Settings -- Saving defaults allows you to return to the program just as you left it. When you plan to experiment or change normal settings, you may wish to deselect Auto Save Settings.
